About the Association of Radiographers of Nigeria (ARN)

The Association of Radiographers of Nigeria (ARN) is a recognized professional health association committed to representing the interests of Radiographers and Radiation Therapists across Nigeria. Dedicated to advancing the profession and ensuring high standards of practice, ARN serves as the unified voice for professionals in the field of medical imaging and radiation therapy.

Established in May 1958, ARN held its inaugural conference in Ibadan, marking the beginning of a relentless journey toward the growth and recognition of radiography in Nigeria. For nearly three decades, the Association championed the profession’s development without the support of a legal regulatory framework. This persistence culminated in the enactment of Decree No. 42 of 1987, a landmark achievement that provided the profession with the necessary legal foundation.

Today, the Association of Radiographers of Nigeria continues to advocate for the rights, welfare, and professional development of its members while promoting excellence in radiography and radiation therapy for better healthcare outcomes in Nigeria.
